“From Frustrated to Fluent”
Fill out a quick form and we'll follow up to talk about your child's reading and how Rooted Readers can help.
About Me
Hi, I'm Brooke — the tutor behind Rooted Readers. I have an Associate's degree in Early Elementary Education, with coursework in special education and a focus on K-3 literacy. Before this, I spent years teaching yoga to children, which shaped how I approach every session — with kindness, patience, and a space where kids feel safe to learn and grow.
I love finding creative, sometimes unexpected ways to make an idea click for a specific kid — because no two readers struggle the same way, and no two readers should be taught like they do. If something isn't working, I'll try a different angle until we find the one that fits. That's the whole philosophy behind Rooted Readers: reading support built around your child, not the other way around.
What I Offer
Personalized, one-on-one foundational reading support — phonics, sight words, and guided reading practice, built around exactly where your child is. Sessions are calm and pressure-free, with the goal of building real confidence, not just checking a box.
Who I Work With
I work with individual students one-on-one, as well as small pods of 2-3 kids grouped by similar age and needs — a great fit for homeschool pods or families who'd like to split the cost while still getting personalized attention. Every pod is kept small and closely matched, so no one gets lost in the group.
Why 12-Week Blocks
Reading progress takes consistent, sustained practice — not a handful of scattered sessions. Twelve weeks gives enough runway to actually see and measure growth, while still being a natural checkpoint to pause, continue, or adjust the plan based on what's working. You're never locked into something longer than that without a chance to reassess.
Working With Your Child's Team
If it's helpful, I'm glad to connect directly with your child's classroom teacher to understand what they're seeing day to day, and to stay aligned with any IEP or 504 plan already in place. This only happens with your written permission, and it's entirely optional — but for many families, having their tutor and their school on the same page makes a real difference.

The Hybrid Track
One 40-minute 1:1 session + one 1-hour pod session per week
$70/week — $280/month
Why twice a week works better: Reading skills build through repetition — a full week's gap between sessions gives a lot of room for new skills to fade before they're reinforced. Two sessions a week keeps momentum going.
The Hybrid Track gets you there for less than two individual sessions would cost, while adding the confidence boost of practicing alongside another child. Prefer both sessions to be one-on-one instead? That's available too — see the 2x/week options above.
If a matching pod isn't available yet when you start a Hybrid Track, your second session runs as a 1:1 session at the same rate — you'll be moved into a pod as soon as a good age/level match becomes available.
